Well I've had good and not so good news.

First of all my creditors wanted an extra £45 which isn't too much of a problem as I can find it someway.

Secondly some of my creditors have noticed that I have claimed £160.00 for Life and Critical Ilness cover and requested that I get 3 quotes as they consider this excessive. Unfortunately my proposal did not specify that this was made up of £90.00 Life and Critical Ilness Cover, £28.00 for my Wifes Redundancy Cover, £12.00 for my Redundancy Cover and a further £28.00 for other life and loss of mobility cover. They subsequently request that I get further quotes and if I dont they wont accept.

I have done a couple of quotes this morning and the cheapeast life/critical insurance is £90.00, my Redundancy Cover would cost more and my ex-service policy XPAX is not available at such a level elsewhere so I really dont know what to do.

Added to this Tom is going to try and speak to my creditors, however, is on a half day today, therefore I dont know what is going to happen or when/if this will be sorted.

I really wanted to accept their proposal but feel I cant further jeapordize my family by removing the safety net that my insurance affords, added to the fact that my mortgage is now interest only and therefore if something happened I would have no cover to pay off my mortgage whatsoever.

This really is a nightmare and I hope the creditors will realise the breakdown of my £160.00 and see that it is not excessive. What a day!

I really dont know what to do or how this will pan out and just can't think straight at the moment. So close and yet so far!

Very sorry you have had a set back - at least you are able to find the £45 if necessary - I hope you can manage to get the policies sorted out - hopefully you will be able to post better news next week

IVA ACCEPTED

Well have spoken to Tom again and I will have to still get quotes for my creditors for my insurances, however, the IVA is accepted. Thanks to all for your kind words and advice and I just need to get my head round things, however, not sure how I feel at the moment...its a little bitter sweet.

It's great news and I can now plan a future but its difficult to take-in the enormity of the mess I got myself into and that I now actually have a way to sort it all out.

A little lost for words at the moment.
