Yep Max now with Laura. She has said in her introductory letter that I can speak with Melanie at anytime so will contact the office first thing in the morning.
In any event Melanie has got me into a much better position now than I was 2 months ago and truth be told although I have a couple of "niggles" at the moment, I thank my lucky stars that I have got the IVA approved and effectively 5 years stay of execution lol...with the chance that one way or another I will be debt free.

Good! Do let us know how you get along. You and your wife must have NO more worries. I do not know who your point loan is with but we had a similar problem - I told the creditor rep that my IP is Melanie Giles - the reply I got was that she was honourable and because of that the IVA was deemed genuine and they would help - they did - much of the joint debt was written off!
Pennyless - very sorry to knag you - but your comment stay of execution! Please Pennyless don't look on the blackside - it does no good only harm to you. You will be ok and so will Mrs Pennyless - with our joint loan we went right to the top - spoke to the Director of the creditor's Insolvency Dept - it worked because at that level they do not rely upon scripts. They have authority to act. Try it!
I thought that one of the plus points of going into an IVA as opposed to BR was to protect your home and if it is correct what Penny is saying, that if he can't raise any equity he has to sell his home, then there is no protection of his home?
I know it's all in the future and we don't know what the circumstances will be at the time but if he does have to sell his home, what was the point of having the protection of an IVA and paying back as much as he could afford to creditors only to have to sell his home at the end of the day?
7 year IVA completed in December 2016 - there is light at the end of that tunnel
Pennyless needs to speak to the IVA team about this before any further comments are made.
I do not have to sell my home if I can't raise any equity and I will have more than enough by then.
I think we should reserve judgement until he has spoken to his case manager.

Morning all. Internet connection problems yesterday but back up and running.
Having checked my actual "proposal" it clearly states the following:
SALE OF PROPERTY EXCLUDED
"For the avoidance of doubt at no time do I intend to sell my property and the arrangement does not include any requirement whatsoever to place this property on the market for sale."
The aformentioned is obviously contrary to that stated in the letter I received and I would assume my "proposal" takes priority.I will try and speak to my IP today and let you know how it go's.
I came into this world with nothing and still have most of it left!
Have spoken to the IVA Bureau this morning and it would appear that the paragraph in the letter, regarding me "agreeing to the sale of my property" was entered in error and my proposal takes precedence....major sigh of relief!
Max I will await further correspondance from Barclays about our joint loan then do as you suggested by contacting the main boss...thanks.

Good news and now I wish you all the very best and I am glad you are with Melanie's firm for you will be well looked after. Best of luck with Barclays - don't give in - be very polite but persistent and I am sure you will be able to come to some arrangement. Take care.
