It would be good if Elf could post back as I am sure my understanding of the (re-read) earlier posts just CAN'T be right.

It sounds like Elf was on a THREE MONTH contract but - by mistake - his / her employers continued paying Elf for the rest of a calendar year???? What on earth happened to all this money??

Elf - just to clear things up - can you clarify what happened here? Obviously if you were still being paid AFTER your 3 month contract expired - and you were no longer working - it should have been clear left, right and centre that this was not correct.

On this basis it is not surprising that your Creditors were not inclined to accept an IVA?????

I am sure I must have misunderstood - please post back to explain how this whole thing developed???????

I think elf has turned to the bankruptcy site now optimist. I think what is done is done. He needs to sort it out now. Viki X

I agree with you Vicky, up to a point. However, having (like Optimist) re-read this thread I think that Elf should take some specialist advice from an insolvency lawyer. If Optimist's perception of the background is right, I cannot see bankruptcy being a soft landing here and before lighting the blue touch paper Elf needs to ensure the eyes are wide open.

I know what you mean Ian. I think elf realises that he has been irresponsible (his words). Personally I don't know how this could have happened other than he knew full well and thought that no one would notice. He seems to be getting some advice on the sister site so I hope he sorts it all out. Viki X

Good point viki - and I honestly do hope that elf finds a solution that is acceptable to all concerned.
