My IVA started on 7/11/2005, and I made the last payment in January 2011 (2 payment holidays)
I was expecting it to disappear from my credit report after 6 years from the start, but I've just ordered my report from Experian, and it's still there! Why is this?
I would speak to all of the credit reference agencies and send them a copy of your completion letter and tell them to remove any defaults after the date of IVA completion and also to remove the IVA.

Some creditors will default throughout the IVA but must, once you have completed, set those defaults back to the date of the IVA acceptance.

allegedly iva falls off CRAs, but apparantly it does not . you just send them copy of completion cert and quick note and they will update it ! ours was sorted in 10 days of sending them letter.
It should fall off after six years but if not then write to them as suggested. They should then remove it.

The IVA will only disappear after six years if the CRA marks it Discharged after having received a copy of the completion certificate. The insolvency service sends this automatically after completion to all CRAs. It is however up to you to check to see that they mark the record as discharged. If they don't then it will stay on until you act. This is why it is so important to cleanup your credit file post IVA. You need to write to experian and as, them to remove it enclosing your completion certificate. They then have 28 days to update the record.
It is a misconception that it deletes after 6 years, it will only happen if the discharge is correctly keyed. So it's worth checking.

We are still having an ongoing problem with Experian. They are saying that our Completion Certificate doesn't have the reference number on the top, so are not happy to remove the IVA until they have confirmed this themselves with the Insolvency Agency. Despite numerous letters and phone calls we are still waiting. Our certificate was received August 2011 and was sent off immediately. They do acknowledge receipt of certificate though. Must say this is now starting to try my patience.
Write to them again, give them 28 days in which to get things sorted otherwise you will take matter further. This may well get them to remove the IVA.

Experian accepted my certificate and it doesn't have the reference number on it. How many people with the exact same name as you do they think are in an IVA? I sent it with a threatening letter though through the post to the data controller address at Experian, they did take near the full 28 days but did remove it.

Call me cynical but it seems Experian do not remove them when requested to by the insolvency service. I suspect this is so people will subscribe to their credit report monthly services and they can make money out of sorting it out!
