RP - I'm afraid situation has altered - no party at all as daughter is getting married the week before so we won't be doing anything.

We were going to have a bit of a party (any excuse for a p up!) but won't be doing anything at all.

Mum and dad are taking us out for lunch, even though we're not bothered but it would upset them if we didn't go.

Quite rightly so if someone is offering to pay for you to go out to celebrate such an achievement 25 years is a long time. Shame you are missing out on the p up but then your daughters wedding a week prior will be full of drinking I am sure :D x

It won't be Dave - we have to do the cleaning up and the driving home afterwards so will be pretty sober for us.

It gets worse, hide a couple of bottles of bubbly and have your own drunken night on your anniversary even if its just with a couple of close friends.

kallis, sorry to hear your plans had to change. i know it might sound corny but we are quite content with a nice meal at home,a DVD,bottle of wine & some choccy to share.

kind of your Mum & Dad, sometimes it's much harder to allow someone to treat YOU than to give to others.

i know your hubby has heart trouble(i do too),that makes you grateful just to be together doesn't it?

We are really not bothered and would just as soon gloss over it.

It is kind of them but they know we're not bothered and as they take us out every couple of months or so for lunch then this won't be treated any different.

I'm actually surprised we have got this far given hubby's health problems!

We have never celebrated an anniversary yet and if it wasn't for the fact that we would upset my parents (and hubby really, really is not interested) then we would not be doing anything.

Each to their own. I celebrate every year that I am fortunate enough to be with someone caring loving and supportive of me year after year and will continue to do so x
