my boyfriend is in the process of setting up an IVA and has met with his IP.. he has to sell his house and will obviously need to have a roof over his head. Instead of renting somewhere for £500 pounds a month - would the creditors agree to him paying me rent and move in with me... Also, probably a silly question but will it damage my credit rating if he does move in... I have never been in debt and would not want it to affect my credit rating.

I dont really know any answers to your queries Rawly but I do know you can apply to be dissasociated from someone in terms of credit checks I think you have to apply to do this - no sure if that is correct or not.

Hello Rawly
Yes it is possible for your Boyfriend to move in with you and pay you a contribution to the rent and all shared bills. It would be important to show that this arrangement was not costing your Boyfriend more than renting on his own in the local area.

The above arrangement would have no bearing on your credit status.

My advice would be for your Boyfriend to discuss this potential arrangement with his IP immediately.
