Its been a while since I have been on here - I recognise the names of some members who were on here 5 years ago when I was! We entered our IVA in February 2007, my husbands would end in Jan 2012 and thanks to Melanie Giles and her team at a variation meeting yesterday it was agreed that mine will end at the same time. Words cannot even begin to express how grateful we are to Melanie and everyone at Philiip Gill. Its been a torrid 5 years and there isnt enough room for our story in this post - Melanie dealt with statutory demands and even a charging order post IVA being accepted. My business folded 3 years in and we had 2 children during the IVA but we carried on the payments, on a wing and a prayer most months but we did it. We wouldnt have got by without the help of family and the support of our IP that is for sure but knowing we are almost there is the most wonderful feeling in the world. It is hard but we accepted that was the price we had to pay for getting in such a mess, and it was truly a mess. I cant quite believe the size of the debt when I look back but one thing is for certain, our lives start again next year and we can look forward to a new year with this behind us. The best advice I can give is make sure you have the very best IP and team and that has to be Melanie and Phillip Gill. I know this is what they do everyday but we will never forget what they have done for us. To all of you in the process and those of you at the beginning of the 5 years, hang in there - you will make it to the end however hard it seems at times.
It is a lovely post - well done to you and to Mel's company for making sure that things came to a satisfactory conclusion.
You might think about doing a blog so we can read your story - it will be a help to other posters.

The greatness of a man is not in how much wealth he acquires, but in his integrity and his ability to affect those around him positively.
