Hi - not been on for a while, but have enjoyed reading everyone's posts.
I have a question with regard my current situation being in an iva.
I have been asked by a society that I am a member of to act as an honourary treasurer. This entails acting as a signatory on cheques that require 2 signatures - therefore being the chairman + me signing, or the secretary + me signing.
I would not handle any of the other account work, this would be done by the secretary.
Do you think I would be ok doing this? I wondered about the checks on the bank account, to be opened with 3 signatories - would this flag up my iva status?
Any help appreciated.

Hi
It is very possible that the bank involved will credit check and your IVA will flag up. This may cause you some embarrassment.
I do not think that anything in your IVA would preclude you from being a treasurer but best run it by your IP
Good luck

IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

Many thanks for the answer Andy.
Had a feeling that may be the case, so I will give it a miss.

I am on The Committee for a local charity and I know that, according to our constitution (which I wrote!) anyone insolvent was not allowed to be Treasurer or be a Trustee of the Charity.
Do you have a consitution or written poicies or procedures for your society which covers these matters?
Completion Certificate received September 2012.
