Thats very good elv5. My son is doing the equivelent to a levels doing an IT course and he is getting ditinctions across his lesssons. The equivelent to getting A's. If he gets distinctions at the end he could get a scholarship at uni. Which is looking likely.

Good on your son - I wish him all the best. I have to say though, for the benefit of others looking for an excellent IP, Melanie got all the very expensive extra curicular lessons he has to have through on my IVA. She is therefore, a part of his success.
I too received a letter from IVA Watchdog today telling me all about how they have reviewed IVAs in my area and that I might be eligible for compensation etc.
It seems that these people are none too popular on here by the look of it. I don't know anything about them to be honest. What is the story with IVA Watchdog?
How do you think that they know anything about you or your personal circumstances or the decision you made when you entered into your IVA? How on earth can they say that they have reviewed IVAs in your area?
What utter rubbish - from a firm who is only interested in using publicly available information about you, to try and get your money diverted to them.
If you are happy with your IVA, and content with having a mind of your own to make your own decisions, I suggest you give this outfit a wide berth.

Good idea - anything you get through the post like that is best ignored.
They are only out to make money from you.

These people have a website. It looks very familiar to and contains a lot of the exact same information of a site that was going by either the IVA Review Board or some other such name some time ago. I did have them in my favourites but because they seemed to die a death, I must have removed them in a clean up of old rubbish.
It does look as though they have become more active again but in a different guise. They also seem to be employing a slightly different tact. Whereas you were previously bombarded with claims of being mis-sold your IVA, they are now going for the approach which might suggest that you may have grown tired of your IVA and want a way out.
How does the IVA Watchdog guide you through bankruptcy? 1. We assess your individual circumstances to establish whether your current debt solution is right for you using the GREAT system. (I wonder what that GREAT system is ... I'll bet a shiny pound that a degree of mis selling is involved.)
2. If you wish to go bankrupt, we provide an information pack with our full terms and conditions for you to accept.
3. When you are satisfied, make your payment or set up a standing order. Your bankruptcy petition will be prepared and a court date booked.
4. We introduce you to the UK Restart programme, which provides you with a managed bank account and a prepaid MasterCard as part of your credit accelerator programme to rebuild your credit profile.

I have no doubts you will be met with the same spiel as before should you call them up on there freephone number.
What a load of old rubbish - which can be done entirely without payment to anyone. Managed bank accounts and prepaid Mastercards are readily available on the marketplace now, and as we all know bankruptcy proceedings are remarkably easy to arrange by individuals directly with the Court.
And why on earth would you want to take credit out as soon as you have gone bankrupt?
It's money for old rope, but the trouble is that people believe this rubbish they are spouting.
You can do it yourself without lining someone else's pockets!

At least not until you get involved with these sorts and get bamboozled in to thinking you cannot possibly handle the paperwork. That's were theyll try to hook you.
It makes me cringe when I hear of them telling people they will attend Court with them to hold their hand and also attend the OR's meeting - which are largely non-existent these days unless you are self-employed. It is time something was done to stop firms operating and selling unwanted and unecessary services to very vulnerable people.
From what I read, the visit to court is not as bad as it is made out to be and the OR interview is done over the phone.
There is this forum, plus the sister forum who are there with enough advice and help to get you through this.
I just wish the forum was more available to people out there.
We could do with all reputable debt companies pointing people in this direction.

The court is nowhere near as bad as people think, and to be honest, although Dave went with me for moral support I would have been ok on my own - he didn't go in with me to see the judge which was the most nerve wracking bit, and that was ok.
My OR phone call lasted 23 minutes (yes, I did time it!) and the examiner was polite and professional and didn't make me feel as though I'd done something wrong.
