I was passed to Accuma by another debt management source to handle my IVA back in March 07 I heard nothing for a long time to discover that the person dealing with me left I was then passed onto Andy Hurst who asked me for lots of information - to which I posted with some items missing as I could not get hold of them immediately, I was told at this point my creditors had been contacted and a final total balance had been discovered and that they had informed them all I was in the process of entering an IVA - my creditors stopped tel and writting some offering drastic reductions in debt instead of IVA to which I replied to them I would stick with my plans of IVA all seamed to be going well and a big weight was lifted from my families shoulders I was then contacted by Andy and he requested further details of which I sent him copies of the originals I have stored in a seperate file marked IVa in my personal belongings. It has now been months since I heard from anyone regarding whats happening i tel in Nov and asked for Andy to get back to me I am still waiting for a tel call. the creditors are now contacting me again but threatening more severe action - some Christmas present !!! I would really appreciate if someone would get back to me and let me know whats happening you have my families life in your hands at it feels that you have placed little importance on what to me is a major issue. i COULD HAVE GONE TO MANY OTHER COMPANIES AND CHOSE YOURS IF ANY OF MY CREDITORS MAKE ME BANKRUPT I WILL HOLD ACCUMA PERSONALLY RESPONSIBLE AS I HAVE FOLLOWED ALL THE CORRECT CHANNELS PLEASE PLEASE SOME ONE REPLY SO I CAN HAVE A PEACEFUL AND WORRY FREE CHRISTMAS WITH MY FAMILY

Hi Claire

I think that you should be sending that post directly to someone at Accuma rather than posting on this site. Although Accuma do occasionally post on here, there is no guarantee that they will see your concerns. If you know which one of their IPs is representing you, you can get details of their direct e-mail address on The Insolvency Service's website under "Find an IP".

If you are not happy with the service, then you can always shop around if the IVA has not yet been proposed.

Good luck Claire, sounds as though you have been messed about which is the last thing you need at this time, especially when you've made the decision to start putting it all right. I'm certain many folk on here would agree that Melanie is what an IP should be, honest, knowledgable and by all accounts thoroughly decent. I'm certain she'll offer you sound advice as to potential ways forward, and in the meantime, try very very hard to hang on to the thought that you're doing exactly the right thing. The part leading up to having your sgreement accepted is frightening in many ways, but so long as you're honest and put forward your best offer, there's every chance you'll find 2008 to be one hell of a better year than the one you've just had...

and keep smiling....

Martin

Hi Claire

I would call Accuma first thing tomorrow morning and insist that you speak to the IP who is acting for you to get an update of the progress of your case. If you were referred to this firm by an intermediary firm, you could also ask them to enquire as well. All IPs are very busy at the moment, but there should be some method of you finding out how things are going and also how long things are still going to take.

Hi Melanie,

I'm now in an IVA. Just finished our first year. I have been offered a job overseas (in my country of origin). We are still committed to paying our monthly payment for our IVA. Do you think this will be a problem for us to go? the job is really important to me.

Not at all - you can pay your IVA payments easily from abroad by electronic transfer, so there is no problem with this at all.

What a super opportunity for you - and a great example that IVAs allow you to carry on with your lives as well. The very best of luck to you.
