IVA, would this affect my friends credit rating?

He pays 50% of the shared bills, would he have to declare his income if the debt has nothing to do with him, or do I just declare that he pays 50%?

Entering into an IVA ought not to affect your friend's credit rating, as ratings are based on individual rather than addresses.
