I had a phone call from the OR's office on Friday - my interview is at 3pm on 10th April. I asked about my car, and she sounded quite sceptical as to whether I needed it for work, but was going to let me know on Monday. I was mortified as I kept thinking how I was going to cope. Anyway, I had to ring her back with some information, and she had already looked into the car issue and guess what, I can keep it! I was so relieved, they aren't even making me get a cheaper one - not that they come much cheaper than a 1.2 Vauxhall Corsa!

Onwards and upwards!!!

Is your interview going to be over the telephone or face to face? And can you confirm which Court you were adjudicated in please.

Hi Melanie, my interview is going to be over the telephone (apparently 1/2 hour), and I went to Kingston upon Thames County Court.

Hi Skippy

I'm really pleased for you. I know how much the car issue was worrying you so to learn that you can keep it is brilliant news. You have had a tough few months so hopefully you and Dave can move forward from all this and start planning a wedding. Lol.

Has your name appeared in the paper yet? If so did you keep a copy?

Just think in 12 months time you'll be discharged and debt free.

Keep posting.

By the way I bet Dave was happy on Sat evening when Chelski got their late winner. Having said that our performance against Blackburn was outstanding and if we carry that through the next few weeks who knows what we might achieve.

Dave
Regards

Dave

Hi Dave, sadly I don't think a wedding will be on the cards just yet - I think I ought to wait until I'm discharged before scaring him too much!!! Yes, it was a great weight off my mind to be able to keep the car, which is now going to get a clean at the weekend, and be serviced in a couple of weeks!

Our local paper comes out on Thursday so I'll check if I'm in there, and yes, I am going to keep a copy! If I'm ever daft enough to think of getting credit again, I will look at it and remember.

Yes, Dave was a happy man on Saturday night - I can't believe their luck! I'm hoping that Utd can win the title before playing Chelski, but that would be a nice place to win it!

For my own information and benefit when I am advising my own clients in the future. I know that I am one of the resident "experts" on the forum, but you would not believe the amount of information and knowledge I am also gaining from hearing everyone's individual experiences.

Although I do act as a bankruptcy Trustee as well as deal with IVA's, we really don't get too involved with the mechanics of what happens at Court and the OR's interviews. My gut feeling is that if they have agreed to interview you over the telephone, then there is no case to be dealt with and this is just a formality.

But make sure you give us a very detailed account of the call, as everyone will learn something from this - including me!

I will do Melanie. I'm getting a bit nervous, but I've decided it's only 1/2 hour out of my life and I've survived far worse than this!

Can I just say that anyone going to Kingston County Court has nothing to worry about - the security guard needs to learn to smile, but apart from that the people are lovely, including the judge.
