Well said - the Glazer's debts put ours into perspective! Lets hope Utd stuff Fulham tomorrow and get a 9 point lead over Chelski. I know it's only psychological as they have a game in hand, but I'll enjoy it all the same!

Enjoy the wine!

I've just had a phone call from Accuma to confirm that they have received my amended income and expenditure form. They are considering a variation meeting, or possibly re-presenting the whole IVA. Is this usual? I know that variation meetings are possible under certain circumstances, but I have never heard of the IVA being re-presented four months in!

Oh I am confused! After telling my mum about the BR last night I was all ready to go and even booked the time at work (May 3rd). Now I don't know if I'm coming or going. If it's going to be re-presented I don't really want to end up paying another 60 months on top of what I already owe, but all I can do is wait and see. I hate waiting!!!

skippy my advice to you would be go with the BR you have nothing to lose, you have told everyone that matters and what if in another few months you start to struggle and you couldn't have another varaition meeting.
or firstly ask accuma if they can get the feelers out to see if it would be considered instead of playing the waiting game like me, i so wish i had gonr BR in the very beginning i would have been 7 months into it and possibly even discharged, sorry if it sounds harsh thats what i would do now you have geared your self up but keep getting back on that emotional rollercoaster

this is a bit of a roller coaster, its making me dizzy just reading it. Do you really want to go through all that again? I wonder why they are doing this, maybe the creditors are becoing more lenient after all. I would keep to your BR plans, do you have any finger nails left? In a year you would be discharged anyway, no 5 years of struggling.

Thanks Kerri. I am going to see what they have to say as I've got nothing to lose by doing that as I am not planning on BR until May as I need time to get the money together. So I'll make sure I get all the information I need for BR together - the forms are almost complete online, I just need a few more bits and pieces.

I know what you are saying about another variation further down the line - that does worry me, and to be quite honest I don't think there will be a variation meeting due to the modifications in my original proposal. Apparently they are looking at my details, so I'll ring them at the end of the week if I don't hear anything.

Does anyone know if it would go against me in BR if I turned down a variation meeting or a new proposal?

Sorry Lily, your post wasn't there! The finger nails are taking a bit of a battering at the moment! I can't do anything for the moment anyway, so I am going to wait and see, and go away next Friday and enjoy my birthday!

There is no such thing as representing an IVA once it has been accepted. I am sure Accuma mean a variation - as they are also an expert on this site they might wish to answer this here.

When I spoke to them they definitely said they were considering a variation (I didn't think that would be possible due to the stupid modification) and possibly re-presenting the proposal, so I'm at a loss, but I'm sure all will become clear when I speak to them again.

I've spoken to Dave, and unless my creditors will accept my IVA being at least £100 less per month I won't even consider carrying on with it and I will petition for bankruptcy. I'm no good with maths so I can't work out the figures (sorry I'm thick), but I can't see the creditors accepting £360 per month on debts of £65k.

Well I would put this forward for you Skippy, so there's not that much wrong with it. Do, do, do make sure that you can afford that £360 - as you do not want to have to go through this again.

Thanks Melanie, you always manage to make me feel better! I have gone through the figures with Dave, and although it will be tight for the next five years I am confident I can do it. I know it's not meant to be easy, but I want to be able to live a bit in the next few years, and not just exist as I am doing now. I can't keep asking people to subsidise me (Dave and my mum) as that was never the idea of the IVA.

Oh well, it's over to my IP and the creditors now! If my creditors won't agree to a variation I'll go bankrupt knowing I have done everything I can, and it's their tough luck if they get nothing.

Well I've just spoken to my IP again, and I am definitely going down the BR route. I would like to thank Accuma, and my IP Michael McGurk (I know they read this site!) for the help and advice he has given me tonight. I know longer feel quite so daunted by this - as the song goes, I will survive!
