And the offer was withdrawn because I am insolvent, even though that was never asked and I completed their forms honestly as well as having 7 references taken up.

I have emailed them so they understand about IVAs, not that I would work for them now but just so they can maybe learn from their ignorance and tunnel vision.

On the plus side, I had a call from a friend this morning who works in recruitment to say she had a few people in to see her on Friday from the exact same company.....they had been made redundant Friday afternoon....lucky escape me thinks :-)

I would be interested to hear Julie's take on this as solvency in the broad sense wasn't one of the selection criteria/requirements, only BR and CCJs which are different (if we're being technical, which we should when a job is at stake). It does sound like a lucky escape and I hope you find something else soon. Not all companies are narrow-minded Dickensian prigs! Out of interest, what was the job and sector? x

Ironically the job is for credit control in the recruitment sector....which is the job I have done for 20+ years.

Maybe in future theuy will add a line to ask if you have a criminal record, have ever killed anyone, stolen anything, beaten anyone to within an inch of their life or have an IVA.

What am I going to do now, have a LARGE vodka and coke but without the vodka :-)

That would be great.

I know of someone recently who resigned nearly three months ago and at the 11th hour he has stayed put. So it is possible and I would happily retain good staff rather than take a chance on someone new if I was given the chance!
