Lesley - I hope things work out for you x

before the last election, Mervyn King said that whoever got into government would make cuts so deep they'd be unpopular for a generation. Labour couldn't have done anything any differently...the country is pretty much bankrupt!

A reasonable point but not much consolation for those losing their jobs caused by savage cuts and conservative dogma (propped up by the feckless, spineless Nick Clegg, remember the pledge he signed about student fees?) Anyway as the multi-millionaire PM says "we are all in this together" HEY-HO

To be fair to the current regime the country was well goosed before they got their hands on it. If both sides would just stop blaming each other and worry about the rest of the country outside the london finance centre of the universe we may just rebuild the place.

Paul
Discharged today the 8th feb 2012. View is much brighter now.

Thanks all... they are supposed to be contacting me by Wednesday 5pm. Heard nothing Monday. Tuesday I teach an evening class so I'm guessing they'll have gone home by the time I start to teach and Wednesday I don't teach!
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

I know the feeling Lesley, the form we have to sign to indicate where we want to work has to be submitted to HR by Friday, however, I am now not at work until Fri night and they STILL haven't given us any indication where there are any vacancies in the Trust!

I have to say I agree with PD, the country was in a mess long before this government was elected. As well as that it's not just an issue in this country but worldwide. I do understand however that's no consolation for anyone who's job is at risk and I'm keeping everything crossed for those of you who are affected x

Ask yourselves this question, Who or what caused the mess the country is in? former governments, reckless greedy bankers, people borrowing too much knowing or suspecting they couldn't pay it back? Probably a mix of these and a few more things, it's just the share of the fallout that seems to be the issue, bankers big payoffs and bonuses, politicians "don't blame me guv" but the man in the street, pay more towards your pension for longer and get less, frozen payrises, fewer local services,i could go on but you get the drift Just seem we all contributed to the mess but some get to bear the brunt more than others!!

our meeting was yesterday, and very little was given away, just what we already know, bed closures of which there will be 50 and restructuring! no reassurance for our jobs or which wards will be loosing these beds, its a sorry state. i can imagine when they do have information which i am sure they already do it will be sprung upon us with very little notice, and these meetings are just playing lip service to employees who are requiring more information.
hope everything works out for you Lem and Lesley x

Kat, I'm beginning to wonder if you are working at the same hospital as me lol, we have now been told that they are hoping to have the vacancy list by the end of the week and we don't have to hand in our forms until they have the details about vacancies.

Lesley, I agree with you, I hope you have some positive news tomorrow, for me I am trying to not stress too much, at the end of the day there is absolutely nothing I can do so I am not going to get myself worked up about it and just deal with it as and when it happens

Public Service too, though nothing as important as nursing or teaching, but all we are getting is announcements telling us there will be another announcement soon !!!!! Currently having a whole new pay agreement settled as well as a total re-grading. I have alrady dipped out on a £6 - 7 k pay rise thanks to Con-Dem ... what next ???

Best of luck, Kat, Lem< Lesley and many others in this "same boat as everyone else" (unless you are a CEO, MP or top banker)
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014
