this kinda fits what i found with the mod.

lie on your i&e questionnaire (requested as you are in an iva) and even if you would pass after all the checks they will then decline you as you have proved yourself unreliable if you are found to lie, something they rate much more improtant

always tell the truth.. if you get a negative so be it. not nice etc but it happens.. you wont get away with lies with the police, mod/ security clearance.

Hi animaleyes76

I'm in the same sort of position as you were. I havent started my IVA yet, I'm still in the process, so my credit report is in a bit of a mess. I'm undergoing the same check as you did for a position within corporate support for the MOD. I've just completed a questionnaire and explained everything on there. Do you think this will cause a problem for me? Did you get called to an interview at all?

Thanks a lot,
Lucy

It shouldn't do. I used to be in the forces, and we had the same sort of vetting and so long as you properly disclosed your financial situation, and were demonstrating that you were doing something positive to resolve it, then it was rarely a problem.

Hi Lucy, I hope Melanie's reply has put your mind at rest x
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

Hi Lucy

I'm a bit late but you should be fine.

I was terrified cos i got a really good job and thought that being in an iva might ruin things.

It was all fine. Just be totally honest. I just had to fill in an extra questionnaire, no interview.

When i got my clearance they said on it my financial situation was "a concern" and they would review it in another year but obviously it gets better every year so no worries there :)

You'll be fine :) Good luck x
