I must go back one day and have a look around, bring back memories. I remember my late brothers adventures around Willenhall.

A 100p to the pound IVA payback defeat the purpose of an IVA - 'pay as much as you can afford' - if you can pay 100% back then you don't need an IVA.

Anyway, it isn't really 100% payback as there are the fees taken off the payback.Creditors getting 100% debt back through an IVA isn't technically possible.

But surely an IVA is a way to pay back as much as you can afford, and if this is 100p in the pound then so be it. A person may struggle to pay back in full outside of an IVA, but in an IVA the interest is frozen.

Is is possible to pay back 100p by paying the IP fees on top.

It is not only possible but also done regularly. For example, a client with a DI of £1,000 and debts of £54kish could repay £60k and creditors would be repaid in full and the IP also paid. A DMP may not be a suitable option as there is no guarantee of creditors stopping interest and charges and legal action could put assets at risk.

Alternatively, a client may need time to repay because he/she is clearing various arrears, HP agreements, has a reduced income caused by maternity for example but over time could pay enough to clear the debts in full. No consolidation loan would be available at structured payments and again a DMP may not be suitable.

Finally, a debtor may be looking to sell an asset such as a house but needs time to allow the sale to go through. An IVA would grant that time and avoid creditors adding interest, obtaining charging orders or issuing bankruptcy proceedings.

In all these cases the IPs fees would be less than the interest normally charged but gives security to creditor and debtor alike.

And sometimes people's situations change and they may get a better job or be able to work a lot of overtime - that way they can pay more across - possibly 100p.

Other people may inherit money and be able to do the same, we have had a poster tell us of this over the weekend.

jewl16 - sometimes the call centres will say they haven't had the paper work when it has been sent out - I believe it has to do out witin a few days of the meeting. They can threaten court action all they like - they can't touch you.

I hope that we're able to pay back all monies owed - we were lent the money in good faith and I believe it's morally right to try to pay back as much as possible. I would feel proud to pay back 100p and certainly not hard done to!
