While I was in the process of setting up my IVA my IP informed me that as long as I forwarded all correspondence from creditor then they would deal with them on my behalf and no further action would be taken against me. Yet despite this I nearly ended up with a CCJ against me and when I called to ask why this had happened I ws told that there was nothing they could have done about it. Am I getting bad service here or is this normal practice?

Hi there

Your Ip cannot make such statements as the actions of your creditors are beyond his/her control. The only process which can stop ongoing actions from creditors is either an Interim Order from Court or the acceptance of the IVA proposal itself.

A CCJ is meaninless really when you now have an IVA on your record.

Your IVA will be on your credit file for 6 years so the CCJ isn't really worth worrying about.
