Just finished completing to expenditure form to send off tomorrow.[:D]

Hope all goes well. Only main difference is that due to changing jobs, I had to get a car, a family friend got me one on HP (obviously no chance of me getting it) which I pay for and are insured for. It costs me £217 a month. Should not be a problem, would it????????????

Also what happens when the IVA is up, do I have to complete a final form or is this my last one and the next report will be the final report.

My IVA is 63 months and will complete in December this year.

Lets hope 2009 is the new beginning for me.
Not sure what happened but I am all paid up and finished...they even owe me money now :)))

Did you discuss the purchase of the car via your IP - you needed to have the permission of your IP to do this - how can you fund that amount each month from your budget ? Were you already allocated a heavy car allowance ???
Just some questions as I would like to have the facility to lease a car but could not even consider this whilst in an IVA as my budget has been realistically set by my IP.

Hi
If changing jobs meant that you needed a car and it doesn't impact on your IVA payments then all should be fine.
You will not fill in another I&E
THE END IS IN SIGHT !!!!

Just to reiterate that you should have sought permission, as no IP likes to receive suprises like this from their clients in the post!

Having said this, and given the circumstances you describe, retrospective permission is quite likely to be granted - especially as you are so close to the end.

The reason I got the car is that I got a new job and needed it. I would of thought my IP would be happy that I got a job rather than not. I receive a car allowance which is stated in my pay packet and is for £300. So £217 on the car and the rest on petrol for the month, I felt it was self explanatory. My normal wage is the same before, if anything I am struggling more with day to day living costs, but want to keep the same payments up as I am so near the end.

Will this go against me then, not informing my IP??? surely they will see where I am coming from, I have only been in the new job a few months. Don't want to fall at the last hurdle

I think that these are questions that you need to ask your IP to be honest.

I wonder about these type of questions. If a person is paying a lot more into an IVA than would be due under BR, in whose interests is it for the IP to get over fussy at review. At the end of the day surely it is in everybodies best interests for the IVA to run it's course and suceed.

IPs have a job to do - and that job is to make sure that you return as much as possible to your creditors, by paying regular affordable payments. We are not here to take money from you that you cannot afford.

I'm sure the IP would understand and support you having to get a car. If you find it difficult to contact IP via phone, drop them an email, at least you have a record of "your conversation" that way.

well done on getting so far and you will achieve the end of the IVA, good for you! [;)]

If you are having trouble contacting your IP, you can find them via this link:

It certainly has.

The reason for myself getting into this, was my complete stupidity and naivety in my early 20's getting 4 credit cards and not knowing APR and about the large amount they charged, also my bank loan in which they would contact me each year and ask if a wanted it topped up (adding £2,000 each time).

I also blame the banks and credit card companies, there is no way I should of been allowed limits of £5/8,000 on my cards when I was only 21 and earning about £21,000 I blame my bank even more, seeing that they knew my income and would top up my loan yearly by a couple of grand, raising the loan amount each year.[:(!][:(!]. Seemed like legal loan sharks to me. But at least the only good from this down turn on the world is that it will not happen again and more tighter guidelines, regulations will be in place.

It has taught me a very hard lesson. Will never have a credit card again that's for sure. And in other ways it has kept me back with one thing and another.

But come December 2009[:D][:D]

It is important to realise that any person who is in an IVA and takes on any new credit for whatever reason needs the permission of his/her Supervisor. Otherwise they would run the risk of having the IVA failed. Always speak to your IP when situations like this crop up.
