I am in my second year of IVA (done 15 months) and have just found out I am 3 months pregnant. When should I tell the IVA people? Will this affect my payments? I am living at home with my parents but am skint after paying £650 alone on this IVA.

Congrats on your wonderful news.

I would suggest ringing your IP who has better knowledge of your case and discuss any options available to you.

Hi

Congratulations!!!!

As Mrs Skint says, contact your IP and inform them as soon as you can. Your payments should be reduced accordingly. I hope everything goes well for you.

Good luck
LILY

Firstly congratulations. Are you planning on going on statutory maternity leave? This is for 39 weeks and the first 6 weeks are at 90% of your salary with the remaining 33 at £112 pw minus tax and NI. If this is the case then you are not going to be able to afford your IVA and it will fail (unless of course your employer provides a much better maternity payplan). I would suggest contacting IP asap to arrange an alternative plan. I believe that they cant force you to return to work earlier than the statutory 39 weeks (but could be wrong), therefore the only option would be to have a payment holiday, unless of course you want to ge back to work asap. In any case, contact them without delay so that you know your options.
