Ignore them......let them ring you back and keep the answer phone on or like we did, switch the answer phone off so that messages cannot be left!

Hi Mike

This is the worst part of the whole IVA journey - I can't tell you how many times I came off the phone in tears. In the end I stopped answering the phone. I told everyone in my family if they wanted to call me to ring three times, put the phone down and ring straight back - that way I knew it was not going to be a creditor! If you do answer the calls, just stand firm and give them the details of your IP. Don't be bullied.

Regards

Liz

Why talk to them - let your IP do the speaking for you !

Hi
Call centre people deal with thousands of people each week. They have one goal and that is to get some payment from you, they are just doing their job.It is not worth getting into lenghy conversations with them regarding your situation, simply state that you are taking professional advice and give them details of your IP,be firm, polite and persistent.
Easier said than done I know but it really is best to answer each call[when family and friends are not around].
You are trying to address your debt problems in a legal and professional way and it really is nothing to be ashamed of

Hi
They would only do this if you ignored calls at home.
You can always take the bull by the horns and call your creditors each day before they call you !!!
This way you can be almost certain that you will receive no calls
Rather time consuming but it does work

Michael out of all my creditors Halifax are the only ones who I have spoken too who have been horrible - I have posted about them previously.

I have answered the phone every time and always rang creditors when they have sent letters asking me to make contact. I have had Melanies details to hand and quoted her details every time. I have also said that if they contact me at work I may lose my job and then I wouldn't be able to negotiate paying them anything. They usually quote my mobile number back to me but I tell them I don't know how long I will have it as if I cannot afford my billd then I cannot afford my mobile. I always end the call by telling them I will keep them updated and if they ring me at home and leave a message then I will get back to them. they dseem happy with this up to now. I must also say really, compared to most on this site I haven't had much mither (have I just temted fate? lol).

Good luck and do what you feel is best for you. Remember the phone is a good tool cause you can always put it down if it gets too much! [:)]
