Wow - this is gonna sound really silly but I have just had my first chaser call since entering our IVA! For the first time I knew there was no reason to fear the call and I very politely informed them we had entered into an IVA and as such they should not be contacting me - they quickly hung up at that point - funny!

However my point is that I am physically shaking! I can barely type this message from such adrenaline! My heart is racing but I don't know why since I am not afraid of these calls anymore! I am a wuss!!!

Does anyone else feel this way even now you're in an IVA or is it me being daft?! [:I] Suppose it was from spending so long afraid to pick up the phone xx

Good for you Til. I'm like that now when I talk to them, all shaky, don't know what I'll be like if it's accepted! I bet it felt kind of great. X

I had just the one on the day my IVA was approved, and it gave me great pleasure to speak to them.

I was secretly disappointed that I had no more - I was ready for them!

Its an awful feeling isn't it?!
To be honest I thought I would enjoy it more - a sense of satisfaction at least - but I was practically jelly on the floor!
Also got a voicemail from another creditor this aft so will see if they ring back too - i'll be quivering yet smug wreck by then!!!! [:p]

You're right though Viki - is a shaky way it rather fab! I really hope you get to do it too soon xxx

I still ask who's calling BEFORE I admit it's me on the phone, if you follow what I mean? Still tell hubby I'm not in if he answers the phone.... old fears take a while to fade.....and the adrenalin does kick in when the phone rings....
Good for you though Til, deep down it's a good feeling to know that they can't bully you anymore.
It's nice to be back......

I do love not worrying when the phone rings. I know it's going to be family or friends, or some pillock trying to sell me insurance. Those I can cope with.

It is a massive feeling of empowernment(SP). They cannot touch you,you are protected by law. There is nowt they can do to you,and their threats are more meaningless now that they were before.
Discharged today the 8th feb 2012. View is much brighter now.

we had calls for ages after our IVA ...at least 2 months...some aggressive..others apologetic....we just adopted the same spiel and hung up.....

but the funniest thing ever is that i missed getting the post...how daft is that...for months pre IVA we would get loads of post...bills..reminders..final demands etc...then after a few weeks there would be days with no post...can you believe i actually missed getting letters.!!!!
even now we go for ages with nothing but circular and free papers coming through the letter box ...and sad woman that i am ..i miss it...

but NO...dont offer to send me all yours.!!!LOL

Thanks guys - I went off to do some power-ironing to get rid of some of the adrenaline! LOL! You're right Debbie & PD - it does feel empowering and we have taken the 'power' back so in that sense it felt brill - will just have to work on getting rid of the jelly legs now ha ha!!! [8D]

And TOL I know what you mean about the post - almost seems sad that we go days and days between post - not that I dared open it pre-iva anyway!!! [;)]
