Hi all not posted for a while and am at the stage of signing our proposal. Can anyone tell me if our creditors would have yet been approached by my iva company as i am getting some worrying letters, one of which wants to send a "field sales representative" round to my house.

I contacted my chosen company on 9th September, got all my creditors details to them by email within a couple of days and they wrote to all my creditors on 19th September. I have had one phone call from one of my creditors at work. I told them I had approached a 3rd party to deal with my debt problem and was looking at an IVA and don't ring me a t work anymore thank you. They just said ok we'll make a note.
I have been asked to send any creditor correspondence to my case workers.

Refer the letter to your IP.

Ah, the imfamous will be calling at your house letter,

Read it carefully, it probably says that we will be calling at your house, cleverly written to imply that someone will be knocking on your door, it won't happen, it will be a phone call and ignore.

Your creditors will probably have been informed of your intentions. This letter is trying to bully you into paying. Just let your iP know, then ignore it.

Good luck with your proposal by the way.

Hope all goes well and don't worry about any silly letters.

I agree, tell them you are seeking advice from a 3rd party and can they put the account on hold as they will hear from your company shortly. This usually helps

I get numerous calls per day, mobile and landline and lovely letters which I drop off in the post to my IP Co. I think it's best not to worry and let them take some of the pain. good luck

Hi just recieved a letter stating DMS ( for Nram ) are calling round on wednesday at 6.30 to discuss the arreas on my loan. I initially started with tennison but GT have taken over. They have got my proposal and are in the procces of contacting creditors though i was led to believe this would have initially been done months ago ???? incidentally i have actually sent NRAM a letter to explain the situation recorded delivery .

Hi,

You will probably find that they won't actually visit in person - it will be a phone call.

Get GT to get in touch with them again to explain what is going on.

In the unlikely event that someone calls at your house then don't even bother to answer the door.

Make sure you are out or don't bother to answer the door.
