We are struggling with the budget at the moment, but will adapt i suppose, but the problem now is that my ex husband has been made redundant and now cant pay maintenance of £200 per month!!!!! This is going to hit us hard. I could try and do overtime to cover it, but i work 42 hours a week already and have 4 children 2 under 7 years old to deal with, and just been to doctors who tells me that blood pressure so high, if i don't slow down I will end up in hospital. If i do the overtime, I am worried that the IP will see it as extra, not replacing the income I am going to be losing, and i am hoping the ex will sort out a job, before I end up in an early grave!!!! Any advice would be more than welcome!

Hi Gill Sorry to hear things are so difficult. I think the best thing would be to speak to your Ip. You could confirm with him hoe overtime would be dealt with, but is that best when your bp is high to work more hours. Have you looked into whether things like tax credits would increase to cover some of the l;oss or if there is anything else. Hopefully your ex will gewt work quickly and it wont affect for too long.

Your IP will be bound to see that the extra overtime is being earned to substitute the loss of your maintenance, so please don't worry about that!
