Hi All

Just wondered if anyone has actually received the £500 goodwill from Cleardebt after a successful PPI claim?
I was thinking how handy that would be for Christmas :-)

I think it would be nice too if you can

I would also would have liked to have been contacted by my IVA Company since I completed a year ago but hey ho she thats a Christmas song

And no I am not calling them or emailing them or writing a letter they are responsible not me I hope that in the near future people can make a claim for the way they are treated when they complete and the PPI nonsense is an excuse for shabby treatment

I just am glad I finished and any money I have now is all mine also after the 3 plus years of having nothing and I mean nothing now I can buy stuff I feel weird about spending a few quid I had to get a new PC and felt sick all day spending that amount thinking back at never having a £1 in my pocket
I was just going to book my Xmas hols and held back for the same reason whereas before I would have not given it a seconds thought

I queried it - mine is a lot less than £500 but would still be really helpful at this time of year. I have a letter from my bank dated 31st July stating that the payment would be made in 28 days - obviously to the IVA Co, not to me. When I asked the IVA co, I was told that nothing would be sent to me until all the creditors had responded. When I asked how long that would be as DSRP had told me 8 weeks back in May/June time I was basically told 'how long is a piece of string'.
The end is in sight - months not years!

Looking forward to a brighter future for my children!

It is very frustrating for all involved in the PPI mis-selling exercise, to see how long banks are taking to deal with claims. Not helped by the fact that the Financial Ombudsman have at least at 12 month backlog they are trying to deal with as well.

Just a thought

If all the banks are querying every application rather than paying out then the money they would pay out is still in their accounts making interest If they have set aside ie 1 billion then its better for them to keep hold of it and be making money and what they earn in interest shares and stocks they can cover their losses

Can I ask why if a successful claim has been made and paid over do we have to wait until all responses have come back from the creditors ?
The goodwill gesture applies to a successful claim. If one has been successful it surely doesn't matter about the rest does it ?

Because the PPI investigation has to complete before the IP can release you from your obligations under the IVA, Devon.

Hi Mel

Does it have to complete on all the PPI claims though ? I'm not sure what other companies offer but Cleardebt as Dan says offer a goodwill gesture on a successful claim of £500. DSRP have received one of mine back and I signed the acceptance a few months back. I asked them about the £500 and they said that they still had 2 outstanding claims. Surely if I have had a successful claim I should be entitled to the £500 regardless of the outcome of the other 2 as it is only paid out once even if you had 3 successful claims .
Still got just over a year on my IVA left but getting there :-)

Have you got the T&C's? Does it say on successful completion of one or ALL claims?

I s wondering this too. I am with cleardebt, and have had successful claims, been told the same, have to wait for it all to be concluded, but we were told we would be entitled to the FIRST £500 of the total claims, so surely if they have had more than £500 in (minus DRSP's fee's obviously), then we should be able to have the money, rather than have to wait the exorbitant amount of time that it is taking!
