hi there I'm just wondering wether having bailiffs at my door for unpaid parking tickets would be included in an iva if not why not. they are a debt that keeps going up. I need help fast please
I see no reason why not, they can certainly go into a DRO. An exception to this may be if the "fine" has been imposed by a magistrates court, rather than just a penalty which has now escalated to the point of bailiffs becoming involved.

Are they bailiffs or just debt collectors? If the latter they can do nothing and you do not have to allow them entry or pay them anything.

they are bailiffs. they keep leaving letters saying they are coming to take my goods wether I am there or not. I'm just trying to find out if I can put the tickets on my iva
They cannot do that unless they have a court order and you don't have to let them in unless they can show you that order so don't worry about it.
They are scaremongering debt collectors - is there a name of a firm on the letters?

Ah ... if these fines have been incurred after the start of the IVA, then I doubt your IP would entertain the idea. He might, however, agree to a payment break to allow you to pay the fines. This break will be added on to the end of the IVA term.

I have only just started the process of getting an iva and they informed me today that they could not include them in it. I haven't signed anything yet
They will need a court order to get into your property. When they come round make sure that all doors and windows are closed so they cannot come into your property.
Speak to which ever company you are using and tell them about this and they should be able to do something about it.

thank you for all your advice and I will be speaking to the company that I should be going with and if they tell me again that they cant include them I will be looking for a company that can help me.

You need to do it sooner rather than later. As Foggy says, speak to one or two companies.

There might be a problem with terminology (some who answer the phone are less insightful than others) .... call it a parking penalty, rather than a fine. Court imposed fines cannot be included and he or she might be thinking along those lines.
