Hopefully, for Pokemon's sake, they'll sell the debt on soon.

Perhaps he/she thinks you know the answer to that one as you said the criteria had changed.

an example is before if you had a perfect credit rating and wanted a mortgage, they would not ask for salary proof, were as now do because, they are owned by lloyds , which shows they are stricter

I have always had to prove my salary when applying for a mortgage, and I used to have my mortgage with Halifax before moving some years ago.

The mortgage that Dave has now is a non status mortgage, but he had to prove his salary when he applied for his previous mortgage.

With a non status mortgage though, you have to do a self certification don't you?

Aren't those mostly for the self employed?

I know we've had to provide stuff for all our mortgage applications and our credit records were perfect then! When we moved to this house, it was touch and go whether we could get one as we were right at our limit.

Yes, as Dave is self employed he had to do a self certification.

When he took out his previous mortgage he wasn't working for himself so had a 'normal' mortgage.

Im with paypalan and I must admit that we were initially in a DMP and had the same problems has the original poster. Different Case Officer almost each month. Also had the same problem with Halifax Card Services. When I contacted Halifax they told me that it was their policy only to freeze the interest for 3 months. Recommencing the interest meant that I was paying virtually nothing towards the debt and would have taken me 29 years to clear !!!! hence I went into the IVA.

I also have to admit that the start of the IVA left me with £100 less each month than I expected due to a miscalculation on their part(not an irrelevant sum) and to add to this some of the intial information I received / was told was incorrect which in itself caused complications.

Also I made a payment to Payplan for the DMP (having being advised that I would need to continue to make these, pending the IVA result)and then they informed me the IVA was successful and asked me for the first payment for the IVA 6 days later. This left me about £800 out of pocket in the first month.

In fairness however I took it up with them immediately and they sorted it out straight away. Since the IVA has been in place I have had no problems whatsoever and Im prepared to accept that the whole issue was a genuine misunderstanding on both our parts.

On balance therefore I would still recommend them.
