I made my last payment into my IVA at the end of March, I spoke to my receiver who told me my discharge certificate would be with me in 2-6 weeks.
Today I received a letter stating that my IVA has been transferred to Harrington Brooks from DLB and included new payment details. I called them to check what's going on and was told that my certificate won't be issued until they have checked everything and may take 6 months!
I think this is a grossly unfair "moving of the goal posts" is there anything I can do to reduce the time?
6 months is the standard estimate they all give, and is the time scale embedded in the wording of most arrangements. There is little you can do except keep yourself on their radar with frequents requests for updates.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014
Crikey I thought it was bad transferring mine with 2 payments to go. They didn't do the transfer until the beginning of April so why on earth did they not close your case instead of passing it on - really don't understand. You'll need to keep pestering them for the cc. Ring them every week and send emails until it's received. Hopefully it won't take the full 6 months. If you look at comments from others on my transfer of Iva post, they seem to have a good reputation. Good luck and will you please let us know when you get your cc.
I have been waiting 8 months now with knightsbridge when i phone they say its with the completion team we are waiting to constribute the funds it cant take that long surely to do a transfer to each of the creditors.
I will always remain confused as to how some companies, complete within days, weeks and some many months! I feel there should be a timescale and this regulated within the profession.
Hope you get the completion soon.
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.
