I thought I would post, as we now have less than 2 years to go until the end of our IVA! I can't believe how quick it has gone.

Our IVA saved us, and we have found it was also a learning curve. We will never again get ourselves into that situation. We have also decided no more credit cards and overdrafts. The only thing we would ever have credit for would be a mortgage (which just replaces the rent we pay anyway). We have learned how to budget and I think that when the IVA has finished we will try to save at least half of the money we would have been paying to DFD.

I have been a member on here for about 12 months I think, and even though I don't post much, I just wanted to say thank to you all for your advice.

Lets just hope the next 2 years fly by! [:D][:D]
Its now time to start living and to make some some wonderful memories!

Hi - glad you've found the forum helpful, I know I certainly have. Well done for having only 2 years to go - I don't like wishing our lives away but I hope it goes quick for you too.

As you say it is a learning curve.

Well done and good luck for the next 2 years xx

Congratulations on getting this far and you are certainly on the home straight. Nice to hear good things about IVAs and how they can help and benefit people.

Thye have certainly helped us. We thought we had no other option but to go bankrupt, then we saw an advert for DFD and our lives changed.

So this time in 2 years I will be posting how we are debt free!!! YAY!!!

LadyH, we have been making plans for when our IVA is finished. However, first we are going to be having our house modernised by the council. This should happen sometime in 2010, so we are looking forward to that, as it looks like we will be having an extension built due to the size and position of bathroom - its a corner of our kitchen partitioned off!

We are looking forward to treating ourselves to some new clothes, and maybe going for a meal and cinema at the same time without having to save a few weeks to do it! lol.
