Dear Sir/Madam

I acknowledge receipt of your letter dated 7 August 2008 in which, for the 12th time, you request that I pay the monies owed to you. I first want you to know that in no way do I dispute my debt and I intend to pay as soon as possible.

However I would like to bring to your attention that you are not my only creditor. I have many more creditors, quite as honourable and important as you, and whom I wish to pay too. Which is why, each month, I throw all the names of my creditors into a hat and draw one at random. The one drawn is paid immediately.

I hope that yours will come out shortly.

Sincerely Yours,
Ray Scollen

PS: I regret to inform you that given the harsh and threatening tone of your last letter, you will not be taking part in the next three draws.

Please please don't take this too seriously [:D][:D][:D]

When I was in my fifties I was considered eccentric
Here I am doing and saying the same things I did back then and now I'm labelled senile

I know it's a bit naughty/sarky but since I am not being rude and they have really irritated me with their sheer stubborn determination not to hear what we tell them, I have just written the letter below to one of our creditors (the only one who still calls) and it will be duly posted out tomorrow:

--------------------------------------
Dear Sirs,

It has been so nice having your constant telephone calls lately, however this aside I feel I must now advise you in writing (since telling you over the telephone proves fruitless) that I am now in an IVA and have been since August 7th 2008. You may contact our Insolvency Practitioner to confirm this or you could simply look up our names on the Insolvency Register therefore saving yourself a fortune in telephone calls to us.

I must add that it seems strange that you apparently know nothing of our IVA since not only have you sold our debt on to Eversheds/Max Recovery who are perfectly aware of the IVA but you also voted YES to our IVA proposal! Alas it seems you just prefer to speak to us all the time despite all this – we are very flattered. However, since you are not permitted to contact us whilst we are in an IVA please ensure you update all your details to show that we are now in an IVA so as to avoid any further issues as we will no longer be taking your calls.

Yours faithfully
--------------------------------------

I am hoping the tactic of killing them with kindness will get the message through! Prob not though eh?! [;)]

That's brilliant Til, I'm actually going to print that off and if my IVA gets approved and I have hassle, I'll use it! That's if you haven't copyrighted it![:D] X
