letters sent recorded delivery, no one responded

i owe over £10,000 in england where i have now retirede and moved to europe.i have constantly for the last 6 months written to the companies saying i can not afford it all on my pension can we come to an agreement.every 30 letters have be recorded delivery so i can be sure they have recieved them and so far no one will responde to anything so i have had no choice but to stop payments so i can eat and pay for heating. please how can i get on top of this situation,

If you have tried your best to get your creditors to acknowledge that you are having difficulties, and they have not bothered to respond, I do not think that there is much else you can do to get them to accept a compromise. You could always declare bankruptcy in the UK, but personally I would sit tight until the Debt Relief Order legislation is available which is a much cheaper and quicker way forward for you to be released from those debts.
