I've thought that as well. To be honest I wouldn't mind so much if we actually got something for the money - our road floods every time we get heavy rain, the pavements are cracked and lumpy, the roads are full of pot holes and we get our bins emptied once a fortnight - that'll be lovely in the summer!

Sorry, rant over!

We pay £575 in Lancashire for a new build 3 bed semi with double drive, garden and 3 bathrooms, its only a Band B Council tax too!

Wish we had got a 4 bed now, it would not have been much more rent[:D]

Hi there,

We nare in exactly the same situation and have found through talking with the letting agents that if you are up front with them it is alot better that and you don't waste yours or there time.

Not looking forward to going to mum & dad and asking them to lend us the months rent and deposit and to stand as Guarantors epsecially at the age of 31 but needs must and all that jazz.

I was beginning to think rental prices down poole/bournemouth were expensive but looking at some of them I think we are quite lucky although our main problem is finding somewhere that will accomodate our dining room table (ikea's largest but didn't know that when we brtought it) and all our C**P!!! That and we need a garden as our runner bean seedlings are going to take over our conservatory if we are not careful!!!

Still got 8 weeks to find a place, pack and move...[:D]

Just heard from my letting agents - our landlord has retracted the section 21 notice (notice of possession)!! So we don't have to move - yippee!!!! The agents were quite apologetic as they have only submitted the notice and he has changed his mind bearing in mind that he did this 2 years ago to us/agents!!!

Still the bank of mum and dad are relieved! And so are our friends (now they don't have to help!) and we can plant our seedlings!!!![:D]

That's great news Louisa, at least you don't have to move.
It must be awful having a landlord like yours, threatening this every now and again though.
xx
It's nice to be back......
