Hi
My wife had a letter today from a debt collection agency acting on behalf of Littlewoods. They were chasing a £200 debt.Trouble is this was included in her IVA in 2004,settled earlier this year. They even voted yes to the IVA !!
How these companies manage and communicate baffles me.She has phoned them and they will update their records.
What's the betting that this will not be the last we hear of it ?

5 to 1 - It surprises me these companies manage to stay in business, with their lack of communication, how on earth do they manage to invoice anyone…

Littlewoods have only just stopped (I hope!) chasing me for the £80 I owed them when I went into my IVA - that was a year ago and I've been BR since March! Even after I sent them a copy of the BR notice they still carried on. It was only when I got the OR involved that it seemed to stop - I don't think they're the brightest company around!

Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is the present - a gift to make the most of.

they chased me too after BR then put a DCA on me even tho i had faxed them copies of my BR certificate, they even suggested i could be making it up etc, and threatened me with a home call, i told them they were more than welcome to come, it would be them who would end up with egg on their face, it really makes you wonder if they know what they are doing and the costs they must incur chasing debts that have been covered by BR or iva, my OR did say that some people did actually pay them as they got frightened and didn't realise that it put them in breach of their BR.

Hi
That's the point Kerri, how many people do pay up even though they shouldn't.Can it be just poor communication within the company,or is there another reason ?

I enjoyed arguing with Tesco when they wanted a payment, but I can imagine that some people could be talked into making a payment, especially if they are really stressed out by the BR.

andy people get scared although they think BR has covered them they don't understand the implications of BR some pay to get a quiet life and others pay because they say we don't do BR and they get scared, its not always easy going BR because people don't understand the implications.
its because when you don't understand you don't know it but you will guess it,

Well surprise ,surprise
Since my original post my wife has had two further letters. The latest one received today states that because she has not contacted them to arrange payment they will arrange for a representative to call round.Obviously she has contacted them on receipt of each letter and told them that the IVA was concluded in March but,as we all know from this forum,it often falls on death ears.
Luckily I am in the know and find it rather amusing[at the moment !]
Will keep you all posted, but if anyone reads this from the Woolwich...............please get your act together !!

Is it possible this does not always have to do with poor internal communication, and that they are often well aware of what they are doing ( attempting to obtain money through attrition and menaces)? Or am I being cynical?
My thanks to Melanie and her team :)
