Hi Neil
Sorry have just caught up with this thread. Am glad things are moving along for you and as always the support you get on here is instant.we started the IVA process 2 months ago and i pretty much felt as low as you seemed to be but we were accepted for an IVA on Monday and i can honestly say this week has been the best week i can remember in a long long time. I feel like a massive weight has lifted and i can stop beating myself up and get on with living again. Yes its a bit scary knowing that theres no longer the lifeboat of credit to use ( although im glad that boat is well and truly sank now) but its a case of looking for the best ways to use the money we have left. Good luck and take care and take as much help and support as you can from everyone on here cause we're all on the same journey on this site but just at different stages of it. X

Hi Neil,

I have just seen this thread and OMG it sounds very similar to my situation.

I was scared to sort my debts out. I created them so I should pay them. Started the process nearly 18months ago. 1st IVA didn't go through, but after a year of DMP have decide dto go through Melaine and the missed in my mind is starting to clear.

Hold on in there, the end sounds very close. My wife finds it worse than me but we just pull together and focus on the main things.

By the way, hope you have found your Solo card OK. I struggled using at first as it was quite new, but now most places accept it even ASDA pay at pump fuel allows you to put £20 in!!!!

Good luck Neil

the last week has went by so quickly and i really owe it to all of you for your help and support.

just waiting on one or two documents and then i will post them all off.

hoping to see Melanie towards the end of the month to finalise everything.

as for the solo card i havent used it yet,had read a few horror stories about it so also opened a co-op cashminder after reading positive things here.i think i will run with it first as i expect its card may be more widely accepted than the solo.

we shall see.

got my house valued today as part of the process of gathering info and found it had lost 40%(£80k) in two years following the slump.im in negative equity of £28k!!

now i can see why northern rock are in such dire straits!

Nice to see you being more positive Neil and glad the forum has helped.

You are in good hands with Melanie and it sounds as though it is all coming together now.
