I see that Lloyds TSB is in talks to take over HBOS (BBC news 24). We shall soon be back to the big 4 banks at this rate!

naughty word is Lloyds tsb they been my worst nightmare

I don't have a problem with Lloyds, but HBOS...

Anything linked to the Halifax is a no no for me!

Lloyds TSB were the only ones who voted no for me - for a debt of just over £2,000 which was one of my smaller ones.

HBOS were a nightmare as well - I had a loan with Halifax and they took £34 out of my savings account to offset against a loan of £25,000! Not even a blip on the radar that.

what'll happen if we have halifax accounts but lloyds tsb were one of our creditors?? will we have to close them down, we have an easycash and a savings (obviously both empty!)

No - your accounts will be safe Angela, as set-off cannot happen post-IVA.
