Quite amazing that kids with no incomes can have cards. Went in today to try and open a TSB account as an alternative( just entering an DMP) I was adamant that I did not want an overdraft or credit Wanted my salary in and bills to go out with internet banking. Adamant that they had to do a credit check on all now. Which they did ( I knew it would be poor) and despite my good salary would not accept me for anything other than a basic cash card - no DD or bills could be paid .

That's bad. Don't see why they won't pay your bills. We are with Nationwide and only have a cashpoint card, but all our direct debits and standing orders come out of there with no problem.

I had a basic cash card account with Lloyds TSB and I had internet banking, direct debits etc. The only problem with it was I could only withdraw money from a Lloyds cashpoint which was a pain in the bum and the main reason I changed.

We are also with Nationwide; we have never had any problems.
Would highly recommend them.

I am not surprised at LTSBs attitude they do not care about customers any more. Here where we live they spend most of their time on the newly emerging migrant population. I noticed on more than one occasion a number of Polish people shopping on LTSB credit cards. Thats LTSBs next category of bad debtors. I would recommend the co-op as they have been great with us. All I have now is a Co-Op cashminder which does all I need.

Can I also say check out this weeks culture slot, complete with appropriate peom.

Cheers

I think its scandalous they have done this without the parents permission. I would be incensed if my kids had received one.

I did receive a letter about my son's card, and it gave you the option to decline it but I forgot all about returning the form to refuse it, so it came automatically. Kazzy x
