I agree with you Herb, we are with Thinkbanking and don't begrudge the fee. Knowing that the money on your card is all yours and the bills are paid is brilliant. We have always found them courteous and helpful and the online banking is convenient,. avoiding lengthy phonecalls
Life after IVA is wonderful.

That is really annoying. Our main account is with Natwest but I have got a Lloyds account as a back up but hardly use it so will just wait now to see what they do. As other posters have said, accounts run by people in IVA's are almost definitely in much better health than "normal" people but, as usual, as we are not allowed to have overdrafts, the banks don't get any money from us so treat us like something smelly they've trod in!

This unfortunately further closes the gap between an IVA and Bankruptcy!
7 years after starting an IVA I finally received a completion certificate from ClearDebt

Lloyds get a monthly feed from experian for all account holders and use the information to complete a Monthly risk assessment. This doesn't bode well for those in an IVA if Lloyds take this stance as they will already know which accounts they are looking at culling.

Will this apply to business accounts (sole trader or ltd companies) or just personal ones..

Also, as it looks like all those in IVA's are being steered into pay monthly accounts as the only way banks can make any cash out us can we include the monthly fees in our I&E..

It shouldn't do sprowstonboy -- as long as your finances are seperate.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014

Well I find this decision contemptible, we opened our Lloydscurrent account before the iva and have been running it for the last 2 yrs perfectly, what annoys me is that we have not ever once overdrawn on this account yet I am sure many of their 'normal' customers probably have.

We have a coop account already but I don't use it as I think it's rubbish, hopefully we can continue to use our Lloyds one for as long as possible

Because I find the online banking is too slow, it doesn't update daily, cheques take too long to clear, I can't use my cash card to pay for fuel at most of the petrol stations I use, I need a cheque book to pay for my daughters piano lessons as that's the only method of payment the teacher accepts, so it's just rubbish for me.

I have to agree with Lem - about the Co-op - used to bank with them (full account) - found their customer service has gone down hill, slow to respond to complaints and their on line banking slow in all aspects.

Very worried about this, have had our Lloyds TSB account since just before the IVA started and of course run in a perfect way, perhaps because we have never been overdrawn or created charges they have never earnt any money, not sure what route we can take now as I use our debit card for business expensis and have even had to use it to hire a car abroad on business (repaid back of course but still needed a card)
Took The plunge and made the call, changed our family life and we have never been happier. Debt free and wont go back..... IVA was by far the best thing we ever did to teach us the real value of Family and money
