Ashb- two suggestions ! Yorkshire building society offer a cash transactor account (savings account with interest and ATM ) the account offers DD/SO facility ) and what about a prepaid card for business and spending ??

You obvious live near the M25 area - as there are only a few other branches around outside that :-)

It only because the bank cant sell us packaged accounts etc - to make their money as there is little money to be made from basic accounts

I know ashb !! perhaps i was was lucky (if you can be with an IVA) as i started/finished mine 1999/2002 - then even after this i had access to mortgages /bank account without problems - No PPI issues !! -- how things have changed :-)

Nothing amazes me with Lloyds any more, absolutely nothing.

Purely my own opinion, but by far the worst high street bank for a whole host of reasons.

Just called Metro Bank They can do a basic account but that does not allow SO or DD. They informed me that I should go in to the bank and go through the process then they will do a credit check! I said that I would fail becuase I was in a IVA, but she said if I went through the screening it would provide them with information to see what type of account they could offer, seems a bit of a dead end and the outcome is already known but I may pop in, they were very kind and understanding on the phone though

Great! I've been banking with Lloyds (silver account with a £9.95 fee) since just before I entered the IVA, my husbands wages go in this account & all our bills go out of this account, with only 3/4 months left to go, I'm at a loss what to do?! We have never gone over drawn & ran the account to a T.
Final IVA payment made in April 2013, never ever thought we could do it or get through it but we did! X

I opened a basic account with Lloyds TSB just prior to my IVA starting and I've never had any problems with it - there was one occasion when they could have charged me £12 but said in light of the fact I'd never been overdrawn before (and it was only for 24 hours by a couple of pounds) they wouldn't charge me.

As I'm over 2/3rds of the way through my IVA and would prefer to avoid the hassle of having to find a new account I'm just going to see if I hear from them, certainly not going to actively contact them to draw attention to the fact I'm in an IVA.

Think I am going to open a cash transactor .. just in case -- always useful to have a life boat!
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014
