I hope this doesn't come off I'm with Lloyds and have been since before I entered IVA, also my wife moved her account over so money could be transfer quickly between accounts, we also have a joint account to pay bills, this is gonna be a hassle to start trying to open a new account whilst already in an IVA that will allow DD/SO as most bills in my name, has anyone ideas for a new account, no COOP branch near us.
You don't need a co-op branch nearby to operate their accounts, ATM for cash out, Post office for cash in.

Yorkshire Building Society do a Cash Transactor account which looks useful.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014

I've just phoned the Co op & they are sending me application pack for a cash minder account out in the post, we don't have a branch here so this is the only way to open one.

Can I ask if the Lloyds customers on here are applying for other accounts or waiting to see if Lloyds do get rid of us?!

I was always under the assumption they opened them on the phone but there is a couple of people now where packs are being sent out. Probably changed the way they operate.

All the best Lyns and at least you'll have something in place in case. x
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

May be worthwhile sending the pack back recorded delivery as it will have all your personal details on!

Personally I'm changing everything before it happens, currently transferring my husbands wages to go in my bank account & going to change all my direct debits next week while we wait for the co op one to get sorted! Then change it all again in a month or twos time to the co op if they let us have one!

Anyone think I'm being to hasty in jumping now?

I will send it recorded Samuel! Thank u!

Personally, I dont think so MrsKnight - I am always an advocate of planning in advance in case something happens. As one of my teachers did say to us once "Prior preparation and planning prevents poor performance"

In all honesty this is what I had to write over and over when given lines for not being prepared!

Thanks Samuel - I think I would just worry waiting for something to happen so I'm doing something now. I am very annoyed though, but never mind their loss! I will be saving £10 a month in fees for the Lloyds account which was never in my expenditure.

I'm with lloyds and think I'll wait to see if they contact me as all my wages get paid into here, be interesting to see what happens with our joint account if they'll close that or leave that open, i really need an account that will give me a debit card like visa debit (not like electron)

Hi deepinit - I know what you mean & I like my Lloyds bank account (silver one). My Yorkshire bank account is my housekeeping account so it's really going to mess us up for a month or 2! But I trust the experts on here & I'm preparing for it. The letter n my bank details to hubby's work has gone in today, I may well just leave my Lloyds open with nothing going in or out of it n see what they do (put £10 in a month to cover the monthly fee). But knowing that my IVA will be on file for another year after completion, they probably will close it.

Will do Mrs Knight.

Does anyone know what type of debit card you get with Co-Op cashminder account - is it a Visa Debit or Visa Electron?
