I am due to receive a long service award in March, this will consist of £600 worth of vouchers, this is obviously a windfall but I am struggling as to how my IP will convert them into cash when I declare them.
Advice please [?][?][?]

Hi,

Best to give your IP a call straightaway and see what they say

I think, and I am sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong, that if you get vouchers you can keep them.

Vouchers are awarded on here every month for blog of the month, and because it's not cash, we can keep them, so you may be ok.

I agree with Jan I would be surprised if your creditors were interested in vouchers, and you would be able to keep half anyway even if it was a cash bonus, plus 10% of your normal take home pay, so I reckon you will be able to keep them but I would ring your IP just to double check.

Given the nature of the award, you ought to be able to retain the full benefit of the vouchers, and I hope that you enjoy spending.

Hi
Enjoy your vouchers, You may find that you are taxed on the £600 so your take home pay will be reduced, something to be aware of

Thanks for the advice[:)][:)]
Rang my IP just to be on the safe side, he thanked me for my honesty and told me to keep them, I'm over the moon, our washing machine is on it's last legs, now I can afford to replace it [:D][:D][:D]

The vouchers should be yours, but like Andy says above, be aware that your net take home may be affected because of it.
Enjoy the spending though
