Doubt it FD. I am sure someone will close it sooner rather than later.

Cannot see how they can close the ones already in the process.
As far as I can see certain requirements from the Credit Act were not fully applied (stuff like signatures, records, T&C not being fully prepared etc) which makes the agreement 'unenforceable' in the Act. These are procedures in which the credit card companies did not follow and has nothing to do with the customer reading small print. This is where these Companies are taking the credit cards to court if need be. It is on the same lines as if you took your bank to County Court about penalty charges, they send letter out, credit card has 14 days to reply with relevant info etc etc.
I am sure though the Government will step in after this lot has gone through, as it will effect everyone in the long run, higher APR rates, more penalties for other credit card users.
Sadly there are plenty of loopholes in all our financial worlds, which the bad people get off where innocent people try and abide by the law.
Life can be unfair at times.
Not sure what happened but I am all paid up and finished...they even owe me money now ))
FD is right. These companies are targeting people on the basis of potential "unenforecable contracts" by way of a legal loophole. Basically managing to get people off any loans they owe. It is morals and unscruplous especially if persons have borrowed for a legitimate purpose and then decide not to re-pay on the basis of this new industry. Hope Government step in on this one!

Not sure but could be legitimate and dodgy ones too - who knows?

As she is advertising a firm,** and advocating debt avoidance, we do not wish her to post on this site at all Kalla, and do not wish to get into discussion with her.

I spoke to one of these companies some while ago (before the mass advertising, and before I found this forum.) Firstly they were unable to confirm that they had actually got anybody's cards written off (all in the pipe-line). They wanted a massive percentage of any amounts written off. I pointed out that If I could pay Company X so much money then I didn't have any financial problems! They replied "just pay us with another credit card and we'll then get that written off as well!" At that point I said "thanks, but no thanks"
