Just catching up pink dog - I hope you get to keep your horse. Seems to me its in the pet category and shouldn't be treated any differently to cats / dogs etc.

Good luck.
thanks.

im not asking them for much, just him. hes not a complete financial liability as i have insurance which pays for all of his unexpected vet bills and his food is minimal as he eats grass for 6-7 months of the year. my partner pays his rent and any other expenses that rarely arise. all i pay is insurance and feed

I'll hand back my practicing licence if you are made to give up your horse, but please keep us informed of the outcome of this as it is an interesting point.

Good luck Pink Dog, I really, really hope everything works out for you and Major. What you are spending on him doesn't seem like much at all and I hope you get to keep him x

I really hope you get to keep him. It is as cruel to him as it would be to you to do this. I cannot believe it comes into question. he is part of your family and it must stay that way.
I am sure as Melanie says it wont happen.
all the best.

He is as much a pet to you as my dogs are to me, and I wouldn't part with them for anything!

Hi all, just an update. i have contacted a Trustee who is happy to take my case and has said that she is 99% sure that Major isnt an asset as the amount i spend on him is reasonable enough and he would be hard for them to sell as he is no good for anything other than being my companion.

keeping it all crossed!
