Hi,How long does it take normally to get closure on an iva.Made my last payment Sept 2011 and so far have recieved nothing from Grant Thornton.Have phoned them twice in last 2 months and keep getting told to phone back in 10 working days.Feel like im being fobbed off for some reason.
I believe that they are quoting up to six months, but it would be best to contact them directly to ask about your own case specifically. If you don't get anywhere with that, I suggest that you contact Karol Wilson who posts on this forum and has really helped some clients to understand the issues which are preventing case closures and she will be able to put you in touch with the closure team directly.
Hi Carl.gi,I too have made my last payment on the 1st September to G T. I have spoekn to them today to confirm that they have received my last payment which they have and they told me to "go ahead" and cancel my direct debit. The lady I spoke to was very nice and confirmed that it will take up to 6 months to receive my certificate of completion due to all the bank charges and ppi claims etc. did you agree to them looking into the EIC claim? again I was told this should all be sorted out within the 6 months timeframe hopefully.. fingers crossed. I Hope this helps?

Too long.
I've been waiting since October 2011 and keep getting fobbed off with '4-6 weeks'. Last time I heard that was 30th August so I'm hoping that I might see something soon, but I doubt it.
I'd expect it to take at least 12 months if I were you, then you won't be disappointed.
I would be grateful if you would contact my Customer Services team at ivacustomerservices@uk.gt.com quoting "IVA Forum" and your case reference in order that I can review and obtain an update on the closure of your arrangement.
Is there another GT rep on the forum called Claire? If so, it would be good to know your full details so we can refer forum posters to another point of contact.
I really find all this very depressing. I will be making my last payment to Grant Thornton next week and now it looks like I will face a long wait and battle to get closure. I was basically told to sign an agreement to allow a company to pursue PPI claims even though I said I didn't take out PPI.
I was told it may delay closure if I didn't do this but it looks like it will be delayed anyway. After all the stress of a five year IVA this is not what you need.

Maybe Karol is having a well deserved break.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
