Just checking on to the Forum this morning (Sunday) I noticed that we often seem to have a wave of new posters on a Sunday ... or perhaps I am just more aware of it!

It got me wondering ... I can rememember very distintctly a very magickal Sunday morning three years ago in April when I got up and made an early morning call to a company that adverstised IVAs as a solution to my debts. That was a truly significant day in my life, when it essentially turned my life around.

Does anyone else have that day etched on their memory ... , if so, what day of the week was it?

I remember , it was a monday and I wouldnt make the call, scared of being judged and still I feel not wanting to face it all. My lovley husband who hates the telephone, made the call. I did get the phone passed to me fairly quickly as always but from there the relief was immense .
I have never forgotten it either.

D'ya know, I can't remember what day it was, but I do remember sitting in the seat I am now (dining room) while hubbie phoned Payplan. We only phoned to see if they would do us a DMP (we were already in one having been told we couldn't have an IVA before) as we were paying charges to our company.

The wonderful feeling when they asked us why we weren't in an IVA, and they could propose one for us was indescribable!

It was the start of a new, and happier, chapter of our lives.

It was a Tuesday for me, I'd had an op on my eyes on the Monday and sat at home feeling sorry for myself and decided to try and get some help. Rang a few random companies and then discovered the forum and Melanie and the rest as they say is history. 6 Payments into my IVA with Melanie and Magical Tuesday remains in my mind.
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

My memory is so bad im lucky to remember my kids birthdays.
The one day and date i always remember though is Tuesday December 6th 2005. Lying in a hospital bed and a crowd of docs surrounded me and drew the curtains round the bed

That was the day i thought my world would fall apart. I remember thinking, how will we cope and what do i tell the kids.
We had only ever known 1 person with MS and that wasnt a happy ending.

Anyway we got through it and still cope now....even though i need a lot of help with things.

Sorry to be the bringer of doom and gloom to the thread but thats the day that i will NEVER forget.

But......im smiling.......even through the blasted toothache.

Mrs Skint you are an inspiration to me, I'm going for an MRI scan on 17th July due to various things happening with my body and I'm not going to worry or go through the what if's until I know what is wrong as it's probably nothing.

My IVA day was a Friday, the Tuesday was the day I found the forum and enquired with a few companies re an IVA. Friday 8th Feb 2008 had to take granddaughter to nursery and got results of IVA about 10 mins before I left and think I entered the nursery like the Cheshire Cat!
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

for me it was a Tuesday I was going to ring on the Monday but was too scared of being judged treated unfairly. After spending another sleepless night I plucked up the courage and it did take courage. The relief of having done something was enormous even though we were a long way from the setting up the IVA. It was for us the best thing I had ever done. The arguing about money stopped and our life became nicer.

My decision day was a friday in january 2007, just survived christmas, just survived another week of bills. Although the phone call was just to arrange an apointment to talk to someone at IVA company, it was a start and a relief that I was doing something positive about my situation.

Hi,
I can't remember when the process started, I can blame the head injury of old for that as my memory is awful now!!
My agreement day was a Thursday and I joined this forum on a Friday - it is the Friday I will remember the most as I was at the stage of wanting to end it all and you all got me through that - many thanks and love you all!!
Mrs Skint you are brave, strong and insperational, what colour did you paint the door out of interest?
Hugs,
Chardonnay
