Today I have received my first yearly statement from Max Recovery who took over my Barclaycard debt.

I was quite impressed that they actually stated that they were obliged to send this statement out and will continue to do so until I don't owe them anything. It also says that if I am in an IVA the statement does not constitute a request for payment.

I think this is a little different from some of the statements received by posters - they always appear to ask for money.

Good on Max Recovery for making it easy to understand.

I've not had one yet Jan but that sounds a reassuring one and good on them for making it so.
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

The bit about not wanting a payment is on the back, but at least it's not like the one I had from Robinson Way (HSBC) demanding I pay them!

Hi All

I have just received a statement from Max Recovery too but my IVA completed over 2 years ago. My 6 years are up next April - will I stop receiving statements then or will I always get one of these? Seems a waste of paper to me!

I don't think you have had one. According to what it says they will send them until there are no sums payable and no sums which will become payable and if you have completed then you shouldn't be getting one.

I'd give them a ring and ask why you have had one when your IVA is completed.

Thanks Kallis, I'll give them a call on Monday. It does say on the back of the statement that their records show that my "current" supervisor/trustee is Debt Free Direct. Bizarre or what?

Very - mine says Payplan, but then again I'm still in mine!

They've obviously not updated their records and need to do so.

I wonder how many rain forests have gone into these letters?

You would think they would have lumped them all together and sent them in one envelope!

Hi LadyH

It's the fact that I am supposed to be debt free and receiving statements like this that IS "concerning"! Never had one in the past six years from them so why now. Just makes you wonder what else is going to come out of the woodwork or is this just another case of British imcompetence as updating of a persons records seems to be what our financial institutions are lax at doing. We pay our debts as best we can and still get persued anyway.

Sorry for the rant!!!

The obligatory statements started last year, so presumably they are just catching up.

It's not good that you are still receiving these and hopefully you can get it sorted on Monday.

Don't worry about the rant James - we all feel better for that sometimes.

I do agree that you shouldn't be concerned though - you have completed your IVA and there is nothing that they can do to you.

Just annoying though.

I only received 4 out of 5 of my statements. They start from 2008, my IVA started in 2005. MAX Recovery own 75% of my debt and have voted to accept my full and final settlement offer but I still have to wait until my variation meeting on the 30/10/2009 for confirmation. The funds have been sent, I'm just worried that they may change their minds. We have said the offer will be withdrawn if they vote not to accept.

I received four seperate statement letters from Max Recovery today. I think this is the most post I've received in one day since my IVA started over two years ago!

Don't worry about the statements mmm - they have to send them out.

It should not make any difference to your F&F offer.

I am sure the vote will be a positive one.
