My husband has just had a call on his mobile for me from RMA, he had a call yesterday and told them they had the wrong number.

I man has called me and said MBNA have given that number to call me on.

I obviously am very upset as is Michael.

I called MBNA and they advised that they do not have that number on my file, and asked if Micahel had a card which i said yes (he is not in arrears)

THe woman could offer no explanation as to where this number had come from. What can i do now - they are obviously breaching DATA protection arn't they? Michael advised them it was not my number and not to use it, however they went on to say that they were calling for me because of debt with MBNA??!!!

What should i do?
Zoe

Zoe, please don't let this come between you and Michael. RMA and MBNA are the ones who are in the wrong here, not you. You have made the decision to do something about your debts, and he should be proud of you for that - you are on the home straight now. Make sure you talk to him and don't keep it to yourself - that way if something like the phone call does happen he can deal with it.

Dave and I have been arguing recently, and I am determined not to let this come between us - I need him, the same as you need Michael.

Stay positive and keep posting to let us know how you are getting on - remember we are all here for you xxx

Onwards and upwards!!!

Thanks Skippy just read your post.
Things aren't looking good at the moment, just hoping they dont get worse, really really arguing and not talking very much other than arguing!
Hopefully time will heal.

Hi Zoe

RMA are a debt collection agency. Presumably as you and hubby are registered at the same address they will have simply X-referenced to him and passed the number on either deliberately or 'accidentally' to RMA.

I'm sure as others have said it is a clear breach of Data Protection and (as well as being totally below the belt) a straight case of harassment. I would send them a 'harassment' letter just for a start.

If you want an example I'm happy to post the one I used to use but it is quite vicious! Gets results tho.
