Had an MRI scan this morning for some problem that I've had a while. Hubby knows it's today, didn't mention it last night, hasn't mentioned it today, doubt he'll remember. Annoyed me..well yes a little as my work colleagues been texting to say hope today goes ok etc., not a peep out of him, how long do I leave it to remind him he's forgotten?

Son failed medical for army today due to eyesight, he is now going to have laser treatment and they will assess him a year after the surgery, he is gutted.

Daughter who lost her baby a few weeks back has now been diagnosed with post natal depression and been prescribed antidepressents and sleeping tablets.

Probably feeling sorry for myself today as too much time to think while scan was being performed. Big kick up the rear for Lesley please x
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

Lesley, we all have days like this.

I hope the results of your scan are good ones. I wouldn't worry about hubbie not remembering, we have a friend who has real problems, and half the time her hubbie hasn't got a clue what is going on!

Sorry about your son and his medical - I had laser surgery last year on my eyes and can thoroughly recommend it.

Really sorry about your daughter. It must be an awful time for her and you. I hope she is better soon.

You don't need a kick Lesley, just a little sympathy.[:)][:)]

No kick needed Lesley. Sounds like you're having an awful time. Hope everything is ok with you and your daughter and I'm sure your son will pass with flying colours soon. You can, however, give your hubby a kick! X

I'm not going to give you a kick up the backside, but a big virtual hug instead x

I hope the results of the MRI scan are good. I wouldn't worry too much about hubby forgetting, you know what men are like, they don't notice if something's in front of them, let alone if it's something they can't actually see!

I'm sorry to hear about your son's medical, fingers crossed he's accepted next year.

I'm so sorry to hear about your daughter, I hope she gets the help she needs. That must be so awful for all of you.

Take care x

Lesley - no kicks just hugs I'm afraid.

Hope you feel ok after the MRI scan and it sounds like you have great work colleagues so ignore hubby if you can.

Your son may be ok after the treatment and give your daughter a hug from me. I know what its like to have a MC and the feeling of despair afterwards is horrible. At least she has a fab mum for support. I didn't tell mine as she lives a distance away, wish I had though.

Julie x

Hi just wanted to say, hold on, youre doing really well. If you can bear it, dont mention it to him at all, then in a couple of weeks remind him of how glad you were for his support, nothing like a bit of passive aggression is there? Make the swine squirm, for months. Such lonely places those scanning things arent they, I dont think I have done one without crying and feeling all alone in the world. I know its hard right now but things sometimes happen for the best, I will never understand why, but they do. Keep smiling, keep hoping and I am sure your outlook on life will shine you through it all. There will be happy times again in the future and you will appreciate them all the more.

Good luck with the scan...

I was reading a book about the different ways men and women tick. We think panoramically they dont, they are focussed on the task and thats it. For instance, we look in the fridge for the butter to spread our toast, we might notice a couple of tomatoes from last weeks salad, hmmm stick them straignt in the bin, then maybe arrange the milk in date order, sling the egg folder in the sink, that needs a clean, all before the toast pops up. Men look for the word butter, they aint thinking little yellow tub, or whats that? Hmm choclolate, must have that a little later, stuff the hips thingy.... They get a bit lost cos they cant see the word butter, the toast is going cold, everything comes out or you get the blame for the cold toast thingy, you changed the fridge since he last ventured in there or the butter is margarine and he never b***** find it. So there you are, scan? No chance.

Thank you all you're so nice and have made me feel so much better. After I typed my message at work as I went in as soon as I got back from hospital my colleague made me a coffee and I promptly tipped it all over myself! Had stone colour trousers on..ideal..had to sit there till daughter walked by on her way home from school in wet trousers as I couldn't walk up the road looking like I did and ask her to nip home and fetch me some jeans. So now he just gets more unbelievable as I'm now home in jeans and my work shirt and he's not even asked why I've got jeans on as I don't think he's noticed! Jeans are a definite no no for my job! I know all about his day though so that's all that matters!

Lily the scan was an hour long and it was a very lonely and thought provoking place which is why I guess I am in this mood.

I'm not mentioning it to him at all and hopefully one day he'll say something but again I doubt it. x

Never mind, I am on your side. I only have 12 min to 20 min scans and I always feel very upset, I think its just the mood you get into. Like you have no control over anything.

Anyway, my hubby was like that, boy could he talk about his flippin day. Even used to talk to me with his back to me, one day I said, hurry up and answer its cold standing here stark naked and dripping wet. It did the trick, he looked around, unfornunately he didnt crink his scraggy neck.

Cheer up as it wont help you to dwell, he does care, I am sure, his world is very small (starts at the end of his nose and ends at the back of his head, remember he is short sighted can only focus on one thing at a time. Oh and when he settles down to read the paper, 'accidently' fall over and punch your fist through the paper socking him in the snout, just to remind him youre still there.... bringing out the thug in me, this is..

Or you could slam out of the house, if he asks tell him your going to see a friend to talk about the day you have had. Remember to take your keys though, I did this and it was the most dramatic slam I had ever managed, I forgot the car keys and had to beetle back and knock on the door.. it kind of spoilt the moment. It got him asking though.
