A daft mistake which could have been catastrophic for you Lesley. Give 'em hell!
If we all threw our problems in a pile and saw everyone else’s, we’d grab ours back.

I will Andy, SIL says it couldn't have been tightened up properly and has worked its way loose. He can turn it with his hand he said, but I told him to leave they can come fix it as I can't drive it!

I caught up with this on FB Lesley - did you have any luck with the garage today?
Final IVA payment made in April 2013, never ever thought we could do it or get through it but we did! X

when they put the oil fitter on, I bet they never put oil rould the seal. As this will stop it coming undone.
please also make sure the sump plug has been done up.
IVA now over with and it was worth it.
now starting my life again,

Car was collected yesterday whilst I was at work and returned today, all fixed, in the end great customer service and I know they made an error that could have been nasty, luckily it wasn't and the way they've treated me in respect of this, I will return to them next year. I did say earlier they're not touching my car again but I'm impressed with the customer care. x

Sounds good Lesley, I think garages have to do all they can to keep existing customers happy as you are more likely to go back to them although in this case a free service would have been a great gesture from them.

Everyone makes mistakes --- it's how they deal with them that shows their colours !!!
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.

I'm pleased with the outcome on this occasion and at least I'm back on the road, have a meeting tomorrow about 25 miles away butg as I've already arranged a lift with someone that will have to go out of her way but insists it's fine we'll leave arrangements I've saved a bit of diesel in the process too x

some are big mistakes, lucky for me.
my big one was on my own car, the day after I got it.
doing a cam blet change all ok when I started car up only for a bolt to come undone and damage the engine.
cost me a new engine lucky I could do the work myself.
and it was my car.
IVA now over with and it was worth it.
now starting my life again,
