I have spent many weeks reading this forum trying to second guess what creditors may do. My wife and I are in the process of trying to get a joing IVA for £190,000 of debt. Creditors meeting this morning was adjourned as although we hyave got a 75% Yes vote which is one releif all the Yes votes have put forward differant modifications. My Ip states most are just standard modifications that should not effect us!! Then again she's not the one who hasn't slept for the past 3 months. Anyway looks like another sleepless night ahead.

The company i went with was Synergi another worry after reading this forum. Although they have taken one months payment i will reserve comment on here until the IVA is approved. Just to say no real problems with them at the mo!.

Anyway once i know which way it has gone and who voted will let you know!

Thank you all once again for this forum it is a real support

Hi Adders
Glad you got enough Yes votes - good luck with the MODS.
Try not to worry about your IVA company - one size does not fit all, so to speak.

Hi Adders!

Well Done on securing enough votes for your IVA to become possible. Your I.P would've told you if the modifications were going to affect you immenseley or not. Just trust them that they are getting everything sorted out. [:D]

Hi Adders
Welcome to the forum,i can understand how stressfull the last few months have been, but hopefully now things will calm down.
Yes Synergie have had a lot of bad press on this forum, but as long as they have put your best proposal forward and you can sevice the iva payments realisticaly then job well done.
I would just make sure that any modifications are fully understood and if payments are to be increased that you can afford them.
Its so easy to except unrealistic iva's just to get away from the pressure we find ourselfes under.
Also if you own a property make sure you understand the equity release clause so that four years down the line you know exactly what is expected of you in relation to remortgage terms.
I wish you good luck and hope you will be able to look forward to a debt free future.

Tracy

Well creditors meeting arranged again for 3.45 today. My uip said it was adjourned as the 75% she got to say yes all had differant modifications and she needed time to get them all to agree. One was an increase of payment by £56.00 from Natwest RBS but we managed to agree to £40.00. Others include some want £100% of any windfall others are about Ip fees and so on. Northern Rock voted a total No without any reason but luckily they don't hold a casting vote.

Anyway will update later with the fnal result. Thanks again for your support

Hi Adders
Well done and also good for your IP in adjourning to sort out the modifications rather than asking you to decide over the phone there and then.
Good[not]to see NR are as helpful as ever!!

It's A YES YES YES Meeting Today 3.45 Accepted everthin. I can not fault Synergi I know they have had bad press but can't fault them on this.

At my creditors meeting yesterday which was adjoured (due to normal modifiactions wanted by everybody) the voting was

YES
Royal Bank of Scotland / Natwest approcx £20000
Egg Loan Approx £6000
Capital One £1000
HFC Marbles £11000
Max recovery for MBNA £12000, Liverpool Victoria £10000, Ge capital Consumer £1400
Cahoot £7000
Lloyds TSB £12000
Barclaycards £18000
Barclayloan £8000

NO
Northern Rock £8000(No Surprise!)

Not Voted
American Express £7000
Yorkshire Bank Visa £13000
Next, Littlewoods, and a few other small creitors

In total £190000 debt jointly Offering 32p in the £ return at £1216.00 a month Natwest tried to up it by £56.00 but settled for £40.00

I must say i am shocked with the amount of YES votes and only one NO from Northern Roack ( I hope they do go bust)

The phone call my IVA has been accepted YES!!!!!!

Congratulations !

Is it wrong to feel a sense of satisfaction when Northern Rock get tied in to an IVA despite saying no :)

I don't think it is wrong to feel satisfaction. Northern Rock have no feelings at all we had been with them for years. They have had there profit out of us time and time again. people should have some come back against them if they block IVA's anyway off to celebrate with a very very cheap bottle of wine!!
