Hi there
I have received a letter confirming my app with my OR for tomorrow but it doesn't say what else I need to take with me - assuming its my I&E sheet and the ethnic form that the assistant OR mentioned - hasn't put any bank statements etc so should I just print out 12 months of these to be on the safe side? thanks all x

Take as much information as you feel will be needed - and therefore hopefully this will be the first and last meeting you will need to attend.

Good luch and I am sure that everything will be fine.

Hi fudge

Good luck for tomorrow, I had a telephone interview and had to hand everything I had forwarded the OR (12 mnths bank & credit card statements, loan agreements etc) also a copy of my BR petition and my IVA proposal. As it was he only really went in to detail about my loan, so I ended up surrounded with sheets of paper and lost the plot a bit [:I] LOL, thankfully he found it funny too. I would suggest you have a copy of the I&E you submitted to hand as a reminder of exactly what you listed.

I am sure everything will be fine, and you will be sighing in relief when this is all over, will be sending positive thoughts your way.

Pippa

I had a telephone interview, but the I had to send all my documents to the OR before that, which was a bit of a rush as they didn't take Easter into account! They asked for the following:

12 months bank statements
3 months wage slips
12 months credit card statements
Loan or HP agreements
Any chequebooks and cards still held

As it was a telephone interview I kept copies of everything - I was surrounded by paper as well Pippa! The examiner only asked about my loans though, and the reasons that I got into debt. The interview only lasted 25 minutes, which was much better than I was expecting!

Good luck for tomorrow Fudge x

Hi Fudge,

I have my interview this coming Wednesday, try not to worry too much. Just take as much with you as you feel necessary, and if in doubt, just say so. Just be in a position to answer the questions that you think he is going to ask, which appears to be about loans mainly and what you spent them on, and why you are in the position you are in.

Like most things like this, the thought of it is worse that the actual event.

Good luck !!

Thanks again all for being so kind! will let you know how i get on - have written a list of things that I have had to get this month - car seat for my daughter 100 quid - winter coat 10.00 and new winter clarkes boots 35 quid - hope that the OR sees that having a 2 year old is expensive and there are some things that she needs especially for winter - have only managed to print out 6 months worth of bank statements before my printer gave out so will take these and if she needs more can always send them - feel so ill prepared again but I wonder whether you are ever really prepared for this type of thing?!

Don't worry about the bank statements Fudge - the OR can get them from your bank. I'm sure you'll be fine, but I know what you mean about being ill prepared, but the OR knows that you are only human, and they understand that you are nervous - they would probably be more concerned if you weren't!

The OR's examiner will probably have children of their own, Fudge, and will therefore fully understand the costs involved involved with a growing toddler.
